The Australian White Ibis (Threskiornis molucca) or Molukkenibis

This Inner City dweller is a wading bird originally at home in marshy wetlands of rural Australia. The Ibis has immigrated to urban areas in increasing numbers since the late 1970s, obviously drawn in to the big city lights by the pulsating night live and a free buffet at the rubbish bins. The brutalisation of this former innocent country birds by the decadent urban lifestyle is manifested by their increasing criminal activity, notably the snatching of sandwiches (see second picture).
